Scope of Work
CFA1 focuses on technology solutions that integrate digitized design, additive manufacturing, robotics, joining, and assembly for producing finished metal parts from powdered metal feedstocks. Solutions should prioritize high product mix and rapid cycle times, clearly identifying the technology, demonstration location, necessary development, success metrics (KPPs, TRL/MRL advancement), maximum part dimensions (at least 16 inches in any one dimension), material types, suitability for certification, and expected production rates. The OUSW(R&E) is the principal advisor to the Secretary and Deputy Secretary of War for all matters regarding the Department of War Research and Engineering (DoW(R&E)) enterprise.

Submission Requirements
Bidders must submit a White Paper and an Affirmation of Business Status Certification (ABSC). The White Paper has a 5-page limit (excluding title page) and must include a Title Page, Problem Statement, Technical Approach and Methodology, and Benefits (Impact, Technology Transition). It must be in MS Word format, Times New Roman 11-point or Arial 10-point font. The ABSC form requires legal company name, SAM registration status (UEI, CAGE Code), physical address, point of contact, and representations (e.g., Nontraditional Defense Contractor, Small Business). It also requires a description of significant participant contributions.
Evaluation
Evaluation criteria are detailed in Paragraph B. OT: Submission Selection Criteria and Evaluation of the original BOTA. Submissions will be assessed based on their ability to address the stated technical requirements and adherence to submission guidelines.
