Quick Summary
The Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) Aviation is conducting market research via a Sources Sought Notice to identify additional manufacturers or legitimate suppliers for 33 specific National Stock Numbers (NSNs). These items are currently sole-sourced to Boeing (CAGE 0PXV4). Companies interested in becoming an approved source must submit a Source Approval Request (SAR). Responses are due by April 8, 2026.
Purpose and Scope
This Sources Sought is for informational purposes only and is not a request for an offer or a solicitation. DLA Aviation seeks to determine if other companies can manufacture or legitimately obtain the listed 33 NSNs. NSNs not found to be sole source will not be considered for future procurement under this Sources Sought. All identified items require Government Source Approval prior to award.
Submission Requirements
Companies desiring to be reviewed and qualified as an "Approved Source" must submit a Source Approval Request (SAR) package. A SAR package must demonstrate the prospective contractor's ability to competently manufacture the product to the same or better quality than the currently approved item.
To submit a SAR, email dlaavnsmallbus@dla.mil with the subject line "Request a SAR Drop Off". The email must include the company's CAGE code, the relevant NSN, and the email address where the DoDSafe link for SAR submission should be sent. DLA Weapons Support can only receive SARs through DoDSafe due to security concerns.
Key Documents
The attached "P8 NIIN Tech List.pdf" is a crucial document, providing a technical list that maps National Item Identification Numbers (NIINs) to AMPL Part Numbers. Bidders should review this list to understand the specific part numbers associated with the NSNs, which is essential for identifying, sourcing, and potentially pricing the required materials.
