Quick Summary

The Department of the Interior, National Park Service (MWR Midwest Region) is soliciting proposals for the replacement of buoys and navigational signs at Padre Island National Seashore, Corpus Christi, TX. This Total Small Business Set-Aside opportunity aims to restore and enhance navigational aids and safety zones, ensuring the windsurfing area remains clearly marked and safely managed. Quotes are due by June 5, 2026, at 3:00 PM CT.

Scope of Work

The project involves two primary components:

  • PATONs (Private Aids to Navigation): Demolishing and removing eight (8) existing damaged wood pile daybeacons and installing eight (8) new treated wood pile replacements at designated positions.
  • Windsurfing Buoys: Installing seven (7) regulatory buoys in Bird Island Basin, comprising six (6) "No Boats" exclusion zone buoys and one (1) "No Wake" buoy. These will utilize eco-friendly helical anchors. All work includes the purchase and installation of new buoys and signs, and must comply with USCG (33 CFR Parts 62 and 66) and USACE Nationwide Permit (NWP) 1 regulations. Environmental protection measures, such as turbidity curtains and invasive species prevention, are required. Nighttime and weekend work are not permitted.

Contract Details

  • Period of Performance: 90 calendar days from the Notice to Proceed.
  • Place of Performance: Bird Island Basin, Mansfield Channel approach to Boat Basin boat ramp, Padre Island National Seashore, Corpus Christi, TX.
