- Material Specifications: Ball must be SAE AMS-QQ-S-763, Class 304, Condition A. Seats must be Torlon 4503, 4203, or 4203L, or Ultem 1000 with specific tensile strength, Rockwell hardness, specific gravity, water absorption, and IZOD impact strength properties.
- Coating: Ball is to be Teflon coated (Chemours Company 850G-204 and 852G-201 or 851N-204 and 852N-201), not hard chrome plated. Surface waviness must be verified before coating.
- Quality Assurance: Contractors must maintain a quality system in accordance with ISO 9001 (or MIL-I-45208) and calibration system requirements of ISO 10012 or ANSI-Z540.3 with ISO-17025 (or MIL-STD-45662). Only sources with an acceptable Quality Assurance Manual are eligible.
