Technical Requirements
- Materials: The Ball (Piece 20) must be SAE-AMS-6931 or Centrifugally cast 6AL-4V, ASTM-B367, Grade C-5. The Seats (Piece 21) must be Delrin: Dupont AF DE588 (Teflon Filled Acetal) meeting specific physical properties. Quantitative chemical and mechanical analysis is required for these parts.
- Testing: Each Ball requires a Hydrostatic Test (or Dye Penetrant Inspection). Non-Destructive Tests are required for weld repair.
- Quality Assurance: Contractors must maintain a quality system in accordance with ISO-9001 (or MIL-I-45208) and calibration system requirements of ISO-10012 (or MIL-STD-45662). Government Quality Assurance (GQA) at source is required.
