Scope of Work
The project requires contractors to cut and pile pinyon and juniper trees with a diameter at breast height (DBH) of 12 inches or less, using contractor-furnished crews and chainsaws. Key tasks include:
- Treating approximately 432 acres, incorporating existing standing dead and dead/down material into piles.
- Ensuring stumps are cut to 4 inches or less and all live branches are severed.
- Hand-piling material between 1/4 and 12 inches in diameter.
- Constructing piles 10 feet wide by 10 feet tall (not exceeding 12x12 feet), spaced at least 10 feet apart, and at least 50 feet from private land, survey monuments, power lines, and drainages.
- Adhering to an Acceptable Quality Level (AQL) of 85 percent Work Quality Level, subject to government inspections.
