Scope of Work

The requirement is for 1-inch, Schedule 80 seamless metallic pipe conforming to MIL-P-24691 and MIL-P-24691/1. Key requirements include:

• Material: Carbon, alloy, and stainless steel pipe and tube.
• Dimensions: Nominal Pipe Size 1 inch, Schedule 80, with single random lengths of 15 to 22 feet.
• Inspection: Mandatory ultrasonic inspection, including shear wave tests. Customer Source Inspection/Witness of UT inspection is required. Inspection and acceptance will occur at destination.
• Quality: Material must be mercury-free.
• Packaging: MIL-STD 2073 applies.

Quality Assurance & Certifications

This is a Critical Safety Item (CSI). Contractors must:

• Maintain a quality system in accordance with ISO-9001 (or MIL-I-45208) and calibration system requirements of ISO-10012 (or MIL-STD-45662).
• Submit current documented quality system procedures to the PCO prior to award (CDRL DI-QCIC-81110).
• Provide Testing Certification (MIL-P-24691/1) and Chemical/Mechanical Certification (DI-MISC-81020).
• Ensure 100% traceability from material to certification test reports for Level I/SUBSAFE systems, with permanent and temporary marking per MIL-STD-792 and other specified standards.
• Submit a Certificate of Compliance (CDRL DI-MISC-80678) for Special Emphasis Material, including specific contract and NSN details.
• Manage Government Furnished Material/Equipment (GFM/GFE) with documented control procedures.
• Implement robust subcontractor inspection requirements and quality assurance programs.
• Perform Final Inspection with lot acceptance based on zero defects (ANSI/ASQ-Z1.4 or SPC).
