Quick Summary

The Department of the Air Force, specifically the 6th Communications Squadron at MacDill Air Force Base, FL, is seeking proposals for a Giant Voice (GV) System replacement. This Total Small Business Set-Aside opportunity requires a contractor to Engineer, Design, Furnish, Install, and Test (EDFI&T) a new, non-proprietary, turn-key GV system solution. The project involves replacing the existing GV system with a new solution, encompassing:

Existing GV poles will be reused, while other existing equipment will be decommissioned and disposed of off-installation.
  • Infrastructure: Provision of AC power extensions, battery backups, solar panels, lightning protection, grounding, cabling, wiring, software, configuration, and programming.
  • Services: Comprehensive project management, system engineering, site preparation, equipment installation, optimization, acceptance testing, warranty, and operational/maintenance training for base personnel.
  • Performance: The system must deliver real-time intelligible acoustic coverage across all required areas of MacDill AFB, with provisions for crisis events. Workmanship and OEM manufacturer warranties are required.
  • Special Requirements: Extensive coordination with base personnel, strict adherence to Federal, State, and Base safety and security regulations (including security clearances for personnel accessing restricted areas), and delivery of various documentation such as ground test results, as-built plans, and project schedules.
