• Unit and Intermediate Container Marking: Details required information such as NSN, CAGE code, part number, nomenclature, quantity, contract/purchase order number, batch/lot number, and shelf-life marking. It specifies that if both contract and purchase order numbers cannot fit, the purchase order number should be prioritized.
• Exterior Container Marking: Requires the same format as unit containers but excludes the item description. NSN, Purchase Order Number, and CAGE Code must be barcoded.
• Military Shipping Label (MSL): Outlines the essential information required for the MSL, including Transportation Control Number (TCN), Transportation Account Code (TAC), Type Service, Priority, Ship To/POE address, Project Code, Ultimate Consignee/Mark For Consignee, Weight, Date Shipped, and Piece Number. It also details the requirements for linear (Code 39) and 2D (PDF417) bar codes.
• Packaging Requirements: References GSAM provisions and ASTM standards for commercial packaging, and specific requirements for hazardous materials and wood packaging materials.
