Scope of Work
This requirement is for the replacement of one (1 each) Series 60 MTU Port Engine Cylinder Head (NSN: 2895-01-590-73017, S/N: 06R1060712) on hull #45603. The contractor must provide a commercial diesel technician experienced in the overhaul and repair of USCG Series 60 engines. Only certified MTU/Detroit Diesel Technicians who have completed extensive, official MTU training are qualified. Specific tasks include draining coolant, removing and reinstalling engine components (valve cover, ECM, exhaust manifold, injectors, rocker arm assemblies, camshaft, cylinder head), cleaning, installing government-furnished parts, torquing to MTU requirements, adjusting valves and injector timing, and performing sea trials to ensure satisfactory repairs.
