Quick Summary
The United States Coast Guard (USCG) Aviation Logistics Center (ALC) is conducting market research through this Request for Information (RFI) to identify sources capable of providing or manufacturing a Precooled Mobile Dehumidification Unit (MDU). The purpose is to assess available solutions and commercial products in the market that meet specific technical and operational requirements. Responses are due by June 30, 2026, at 8:00 a.m. ET.
Scope of Work
The USCG ALC requires a Precooled MDU designed to deliver 600 CFM of dehumidified air, capable of reducing aircraft ambient air to 30-40% relative humidity within one hour and maintaining this level for at least eight hours. Key features include electric heat reactivation of desiccant, a washable rotary desiccant wheel, and test ports for airflow. The unit must be mounted on a towable four-wheel trailer, not exceeding 5,000 pounds gross weight, and capable of highway, marine, and rail transport. It requires 440-480vac/3ph/60hz @ 60 amps maximum power, a 7-ton air-cooled condensing section with R-448A refrigerant or equivalent, and must be rated for outdoor, salt air environments. Required documentation includes a Technical Information Package with manuals and diagrams.
