Quick Summary
The Defense Health Agency Contracting Activity (DHACA) in Fort Detrick, MD, has issued a Presolicitation Notice indicating its intent to negotiate on a sole-source basis with Quip Laboratories, Inc. for Decontamination, Pre/Post-cleaning, and Cagewash Tanks installation at Defense Centers for Public Health – Aberdeen, MD. This requirement ensures a vivarium is comprehensively cleaned and equipped prior to occupancy. Capability statements are due by June 25, 2026.
Scope of Work
The requirement involves two primary components:
- Vivarium Cleaning and Decontamination: Comprehensive cleaning and sanitization of the entire vivarium and equipment to eliminate organic/inorganic debris and microorganisms. This includes baseline contamination assessment (press plates, ATP testing), application of non-caustic quaternary disinfectant (300-400ppm) to all surfaces, verification via ATP testing, and application of Halomist (vaporized hydrogen peroxide 5%) via HaloFogger for dry mist sanitization. Successful decontamination will be verified by chemical indicators, ATP, and microbial plate testing.
- Cagewash Chemical Dispensing Station Installation: Provision and installation of a chemical dispensing system. This includes two double-walled 120-gallon bulk tanks with secondary containment, a level monitoring system, two Total Eclipse pump stands with Nova controllers to feed two Gettinge 9100 Series washers, one 5-gallon Quiptrol Overpack Assembly, and a Quiptrol cold wash injection system. The contractor will also handle signal wiring, tubing, testing, and commissioning, ensuring proper chemical dosing and waste-water neutralization. Pre-wash, wash, and rinse water conductivity and pH tests will be performed, with a laboratory analytical service report provided.
