Scope of Work
The requirement is for the manufacturing of "Barrel Nuts" in accordance with Naval Sea Systems Command drawings 803-5959302 item 17 and 803-5959311. Key technical requirements include:
- Material: QQ-N-286, with quantitative chemical and mechanical analysis. No weld repair is allowed on QQ-N-286 Material.
- Manufacturing: Internal threads must be formed by cutting; cold forming is not acceptable. Threads must be inspected using appropriate methods per FED-STD-H28 series.
- Quality & Testing: Certifications are required for specific tests, including Ultrasonic Inspection on Starting Material. Specific testing laboratories are listed for Slow Strain Rate Tensile Tests. A Quality Assurance Manual meeting MIL-I-45208, MIL-Q-9858, or ISO 9001:2000 standards is required.
- Logistics: Hazardous material identification and Material Safety Data Sheets are required. Mercury and mercury-containing compounds must not be intentionally added. Unique Item Identification (UID) is required for delivered items with a Government unit acquisition cost of $5,000 or more. Packaging and marking must comply with MIL-STD-2073 and MIL-STD-129.
