Quick Summary
The U.S. Air Force (423rd SCMS), under the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA), has issued a Sources Sought Synopsis to conduct market research for potential "Spares Procurement" of PUMP UNIT, AXIAL PIS (NSN: 4320-00-174-5811HS, P/N: MPEV3-032-2A). This is for the new manufacture of 48 units. The government seeks to identify qualified sources and determine if the requirement can be competitively procured or set aside for small businesses. Responses are due February 10, 2026.
Scope of Work
The requirement is for the new manufacture of 48 units of the specified PUMP UNIT. Potential sources must be capable of furnishing all necessary labor, materials, facilities, and equipment for procurement/manufacture, inspection, testing, preservation/packaging, and shipping. Responsibilities may also extend to supply chain management, logistics planning, forecasting, long-lead time parts procurement, and addressing diminishing manufacturing sources or material shortage issues. Unit prices will be established at contract award, and potential sources may be responsible for nonrecurring engineering costs. This is a new spares buy, not a repair requirement.
Technical Data & Qualification
Interested sources wishing to be qualified are REQUIRED to complete a Source Approval Request (SAR) package. Qualification Requirements (QR) and Engineering Data List (EDL) are referenced, and government-provided data is annotated on the EDL. If no EDL is provided, sources must independently acquire technical data. Requests for Engineering Drawings should be submitted via email using an Excel spreadsheet. Inquiries regarding the SAR process should be directed to the AFSC Small Business Office, and SAR package submission is via DoD SAFE.
Submission & Evaluation
The government is interested in all business sizes, including Large Business, Small Business, Small Disadvantaged Businesses, 8(a)s, Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Businesses, Hubzone Businesses, and Women-Owned Small Businesses. Interested sources must select "ADD ME TO INTERESTED VENDORS" to be considered participants. Responses should include specific business information as requested in Part I of the document. This market research will help determine if the requirement can be competitively procured or set aside for small businesses.
