Scope of Work

The contractor will provide initial, annual, and incident-based psychological evaluations and testing for all VA Police Officers at the Sheridan VA Medical Center. The primary objective is to determine officers' suitability for duty, particularly concerning firearm use and overall emotional stability. This includes annual re-examinations and re-examinations for sudden behavioral changes. Evaluations may be conducted via video teleconference or at an off-site location within 30 miles of the facility. A one-page Pass/Fail report, indicating suitability for firearm use, must be provided to the Occupational Health Physician and Chief of Police within 5 business days of the evaluation. Evaluations must be completed within 30 days of scheduling.

Evaluators must be licensed psychologists with a doctoral degree and at least five years of postgraduate experience in diagnosing and treating mental disorders.
