Quick Summary

The Louis A. Johnson VA Medical Center (LAJVAMC) is conducting a Sources Sought to identify contractors capable of providing contingency hazardous chemotherapy compounding services. This market research aims to find a backup solution for the VA Clarksburg Inpatient Pharmacy in the event of an IV room shutdown. Responses are due March 25, 2026, at 3:00 p.m. EST.

Purpose & Scope

The LAJVAMC Inpatient Pharmacy requires a contingency contractor to handle hazardous compounding, as it currently has only one IV room. This effort is crucial to ensure continuous service if the primary IV room becomes unavailable. The scope of work includes providing all necessary chemotherapy agents, IV tubing, closed system drug transfer devices, and other items. The contractor will aseptically compound patient-specific hazardous chemotherapy agents, supply all drugs, and manage order reception via secure VA network or fax, with confirmation by phone or email. Transport of compounded orders must be via courier or overnight mail to ensure timely receipt before infusion, with shipping costs included.

Key Requirements & Performance Standards

Services must be performed at an FDA 503A compliant facility and adhere to all state and federal laws, including USP 797 and USP 800 for compounding, labeling, and expiration dating. Contractors must provide current and future certification reports for sterile compounding areas and hoods, along with action plans for any deficiencies. A contingency backup plan for facility disruptions is also required. The anticipated period of performance is a Base Year (August 27, 2026 – August 26, 2027) plus four Option Years, extending through August 26, 2031.
