Scope of Work
The contractor will provide comprehensive Virtual Pharmacy Services to multiple VISN 04 Medical Centers, including Lebanon, Altoona, Butler, Coatesville, Erie, Wilkes-Barre, PA, and Wilmington, DE. Services include:
- Providing drug knowledge resources and pharmacist medication order review and entry.
- Evaluating prescriptions for drug interactions, allergies, dose appropriateness, route, administration time, and clarity.
- Clarifying pending medications with prescribers and utilizing the VA National Formulary.
- Delivering daily shift "sign off" reports summarizing outstanding issues.
- Monitoring Inpatient and Outpatient VISTA Pharmacy packages.
- Processing Stat, emergent, and ER orders within 15 minutes (95% of the time), and all other orders within 30 minutes (95% of the time).
- Processing emergency orders and consultations within 15 minutes of contact.
- Developing contingency plans for VISTA system shutdowns.
- Ensuring compliance with all applicable policies, regulations, and Joint Commission (TJC) standards.
- Inputting all transcription notes directly into VISTA/EHR/CPRS/Cerner.
