  • Providing drug knowledge resources and pharmacist medication order review and entry.
  • Evaluating prescriptions for drug interactions, allergies, dose appropriateness, route, administration time, and clarity.
  • Clarifying pending medications with prescribers and utilizing the VA National Formulary.
  • Delivering daily shift "sign off" reports summarizing outstanding issues.
  • Monitoring Inpatient and Outpatient VISTA Pharmacy packages.
  • Processing Stat, emergent, and ER orders within 15 minutes (95% of the time), and all other orders within 30 minutes (95% of the time).
  • Processing emergency orders and consultations within 15 minutes of contact.
  • Developing contingency plans for VISTA system shutdowns.
  • Ensuring compliance with all applicable policies, regulations, and Joint Commission (TJC) standards.
  • Inputting all transcription notes directly into VISTA/EHR/CPRS/Cerner.
