Scope of Work

The VA requires licensed MHTL Homes (Level I or Level II) by the Colorado Behavioral Health Administration (CO BHA) or Colorado Department of Human Services (CDHS). Services include:

  • Room and board, transportation from VA facilities.
  • Safe, supportive physical environment with 24-hour staff presence.
  • Secured medication administration by qualified staff (QMAP or RN).
  • Telephonic coordination of care with RMRVAMC Inpatient Mental Health POC.
  • Verbal prompting for activities of daily living and treatment adherence.
  • Assessment, service plan development, progress monitoring, and discharge planning.
  • Daily rehabilitative and/or group activities.
  • Compliance with CO BHA/CDHS licensure, health, safety, and confidentiality regulations (including 42 CFR Part II and 38 USC 7332).
  • Facility requirements: fire safety, building construction, specific room square footage, and provision of nourishing meals with a full-time cook.
  • Staff must be compassionate, trained in Infection Control, CPR, and Crisis Management, and maintain individual progress records.
