The contractor shall provide a full range of Cardiothoracic Surgery Physician services, meeting or exceeding national standards established by the American Association for Thoracic Surgery (AATS). Services include initial patient evaluations in inpatient, outpatient, and Emergency Department settings; surgical procedures in the Operating Room; post-operative care; Cardiothoracic Surgery Consults; Permanent Pacemaker Implants (emergency); Pacemaker Lead Extraction (back-up); Pericardial Window and/or Pericardiectomy Procedures; and back-up for Interventional Cardiology (PCI) cases. Coverage requires one physician on-site for scheduled elective procedures and clinics on Mondays and Wednesdays (7:00 am - 3:30 pm), and another on-call during weeknights (Mon/Wed 3:30 pm - 7:00 am), weekdays (Tue/Thu/Fri), weekends, and holidays (24-hour coverage) for emergencies and Cath Lab procedures. Key personnel must be available on-site within one hour for back-up/emergency cases.

Contract Details

This will be an Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract, consisting of a base year plus four (4) one-year option periods. The anticipated period of performance is from July 1, 2026, through June 30, 2031. The procurement is authorized under Title 38 USC 8153 (Health Care Resources Sharing Authority), FAR Part 12 (Acquisition of Commercial Products and Commercial Services), and FAR Part 15 (Contracting by Negotiation).
