Quick Summary

The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Agricultural Research Service (ARS) is soliciting proposals for Qualitative Lateral Flow Immunoassay Manufacturing. This acquisition is a Total Small Business Set-Aside for the development and manufacturing of prototype assays to detect antibodies against specific tick-borne bovine blood parasites. Quotes are due by Monday, April 20, 2026, at 10:00 am Mountain Daylight Time.

Purpose & Scope of Work

  • Optimization of all components for a lateral flow device.
  • Development and manufacturing of 100 prototype assays (dipstick or cassette format) with single packaging and a visual label.
  • Prototypes must demonstrate successful lateral flow development for detecting blood/plasma antibodies in response to pathogen infection and have a desired shelf life of at least 12 months, stored/shipped at room temperature or lower.
  • Incidental services include demonstrating performance for sensitivity, specificity, and dynamic range, screening government-furnished samples, providing necessary reagents, and comprehensive reporting of development activities.
