Quick Summary
The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) is conducting market research through a Request for Information (RFI) for Biomedical Engineering Technical and Professional Support Services (BETPSS) IDIQ. This RFI aims to define requirements, identify capable vendors, and explore existing contract vehicles for comprehensive biomedical engineering support across VA medical centers, outpatient clinics, VISN offices, and the HTM Program Office. Responses are due January 26, 2026.
Purpose of RFI
This is a Request for Information (RFI) ONLY and not a solicitation. The Government is seeking input for market research to further define requirements for BETPSS and identify interested and potentially capable vendors. The VA also aims to determine if any existing contract vehicles could be viable for executing the proposed tasks. Submission of information is voluntary and does not obligate the Government to award a contract.
Scope of Work
The required services include:
- Corrective and planned maintenance on medical equipment.
- Professional Biomedical Engineering services and project management.
- Support for routine operational tasks (e.g., maintenance, patient safety recall investigation).
- Support for unexpected or time-limited tasks (e.g., COVID-19 pandemic support, operational readiness for OEHRM/Cerner deployment).
- Interim Biomedical Engineering services (onsite or remote) to fill permanent roles.
- Technology assessment, implementation, and sustainment of medical devices and clinical systems.
- Healthcare consulting and internal operation support. Services are non-personal. The anticipated place of performance is across the Continental United States (CONUS) and Puerto Rico.
