- Transportation of the viable donor organ to the VAPHS transplant center in Pittsburgh, PA, using air and ground logistics.
- Provision of qualified recovery surgeon(s) to travel to donor locations and coordinate with regional Organ Procurement Organizations (OPOs) in compliance with OPTN protocols.
- Provision of trained Intensive Care Unit/Critical Care Monitoring (ICU/CCM) registered nurses to maintain perfusion equipment and monitor organ viability during transport. The contractor will not provide direct medical care to VA patients or access Protected Health Information (PHI) or Patient Identifying Information (PII).
