Statement of Work (SOW) / Performance Work Statement (PWS)

To remove, reactivate, and replace 50 cubic meters of active carbon filter material from two active carbon filter systems located in Building 113, Base Water Plant 1, at Ramstein Air Base.

• Extract 50 cubic meters of soiled carbon filter material from two filter tanks (25 cubic meters each).

• Transport the soiled material to a designated kiln or oven station for reactivation.

• Reactivate the carbon filter material (Norit ROW 0.8 Supra) by heating and burning.

• Replenish any material loss during reactivation with 25% pure/unspoiled carbon filter material of equivalent type and quality.

• Transport the reactivated carbon material back to Water Plant 1, Building 113.

• Dispose of collected wastewater in the brine water tank behind building 113.

• Pump the reactivated carbon filter material back into the two filter tanks.

• Provide a material and reactivation analysis certificate.

• Final acceptance is contingent upon the approval of water quality analysis performed by the USAF Bio Environmental Office.

• Location: Water Plant 1, Building 113, Ramstein Air Base, 66877 Ramstein-Miesenbach, Germany.

• Work must be performed in accordance with Final Governing Standards - Germany (FGS-G), chapter 3, the German Trinkwasserverordnung (TWO), and DIN standards.

• Normal working hours are 0800 to 1700, Monday through Friday, excluding U.S. Government holidays and family days. Contractor may be required to respond to other than routine calls, including U.S. Government holidays.

• German national holidays are excluded from routine and other than routine delivery.

• All contractors will be escorted by designated personnel from the Large Vehicle Inspection Site (LVIS) gate to site locations.

• All personnel must abide by all security regulations.

• Contractor must coordinate with the water plant supervisor for base access and work scheduling.

• Be prepared for potential work stoppages or relocation due to military exercises or operations.
