Qualification Details

Fit reasons
  • NAICS alignment with historical contract wins in similar service areas.
  • Scope strongly matches core technical capabilities and delivery model.
Risks
  • Past performance thresholds may require one additional teaming partner.
  • Potential clarification needed on staffing minimums before bid/no-bid.
Next steps

Validate eligibility requirements, assign capture owner, and schedule partner outreach to confirm teaming strategy before submission planning.

Quick Summary

The 96th Test Systems Squadron (96 TSSQ), under the Department of the Air Force, has issued a Request for Information (RFI) for a Real-Time Virtual Injection and Bidirectional Test Interaction Capability. This RFI seeks industry input on technologies and architectures to enable real-time interaction between simulated environments and real-world test assets across the Eglin Gulf Test and Training Range (EGTTR). This is for market research only; it is not a solicitation. Responses are due May 15, 2026.

Scope of Need

The Government is exploring approaches for real-time interaction between virtual and physical munitions and aircraft within test environments. Key requirements include:

  • Bidirectional, low-latency data exchange
  • Deterministic timing and synchronization
  • Real-time fusion of simulated and real-world telemetry
  • High-assurance cross-domain data handling
  • Closed-loop interaction between virtual and physical systems

Information Requested

Respondents should provide details on:

  • Technical Approach: Proposed architecture, data flow, fusion, cross-domain solutions, timing, and integration.
  • Demonstrated Capability & Past Performance: Verifiable experience with real-time/distributed test systems, technical maturity (minimum TRL 6, objective TRL 8), performance metrics, and deployment history.
  • Vendor Qualifications: Corporate experience, staff qualifications, cybersecurity, and multi-domain experience.
  • Risks, Dependencies, and Assumptions.
  • Rough Order of Magnitude (ROM): Cost bands for prototype, integration, and sustainment, plus schedule assumptions.

Submission Details

  • Response Structure: A core response (10 pages max) including an Executive Summary, Technical Approach, Requirements Traceability Matrix, Risks and Assumptions, and ROM Cost and Schedule. Optional attachments and slide decks are permitted.
  • Mandatory SoI Isolation Rule: Solutions must isolate and describe only components relevant to the real-time virtual injection capability.
  • Non-Responsive Criteria: Responses failing to meet TRL 6, lacking verifiable past performance, providing only conceptual capabilities, failing to isolate SoI, or exceeding page limits will be considered non-responsive.
  • Set-Aside: None specified.
  • Response Due: May 15, 2026, 5:00 PM EDT.
  • Published: April 6, 2026.
