To relocate two existing walk-in freezer/cooler units from a temporary location to newly constructed concrete slabs and install permanent electrical infrastructure to support their operation at the USDA-ARS Central Crops Research Station in Clayton, NC.

• Relocate one larger unit (approx. 16,000 lbs, 16 ft x 40 ft) and one smaller unit (approx. 6,000 lbs, 8 ft x 12 ft) approximately 100 yards to designated concrete slabs.

• Install dedicated electrical service at the new slab locations to meet operational requirements.

• Provide all labor, materials, equipment, tools, and supervision for the relocation and electrical installation.

• Ensure units are positioned according to manufacturer specifications and are level, stable, and secured.

• Coordinate with ARS staff for disconnection from temporary power and to confirm if units need to be emptied.

• All work must comply with applicable federal, state, and local electrical codes, ARS Facilities and Design Standards (P&P 242.1), NEC, OSHA, and USDA-ARS safety standards.

• Units must be fully operational upon completion.

• A one-year labor and materials warranty is required.

• Contractor must remove all excess materials, debris, and equipment from the site.

• Place of Performance: USDA-ARS – Central Crops Research Station, 13223 US Business 70 West, Clayton, NC 27520-2128.

• Project completion shall not exceed 120 days from the date of award.

• Work Hours: Monday through Friday, 8:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M., unless otherwise scheduled with the Location Monitor.

• A 210-ton crane is anticipated for relocation.

• All electrical work must be performed by licensed electricians.

• Contractor must obtain all necessary permits, licenses, and inspections.

• Contractor shall submit written specifications for all materials and supplies.

• A Site-Specific Safety Plan (SSSP)/Accident Prevention Plan (APP) must be submitted within 14 days of contract award.

• Contractor must be registered in SAM.gov.

• Bidders are expected to attend a site visit.

• Utilization of bio-based products is required where applicable.

• Contractor shall make best effort to recycle construction debris.

• Contractor will provide daily reports of work performed.

• Contractor must provide their own restroom facility.
