Quick Summary
The Department of the Air Force is conducting a Sources Sought Synopsis for the remanufacture of T-38 Aircraft Gearbox Assemblies. This market research aims to identify qualified sources and determine if the effort can be a competitive or total Small Business Set-Aside. Responses are due by March 11, 2026.
Purpose & Scope
This is a market research effort, not a solicitation, to identify responsible sources for the remanufacture of T-38 Aircraft Gearbox Assemblies (P/N 14-51100-501, NSN: 1680-01-440-5106). These are Critical Safety Items (CSI) within the T-38 aircraft Secondary Power Systems. The government seeks firms with experience in manufacturing, testing, and design of aircraft secondary power systems, including test capabilities and airworthiness certification. The design is complex, requiring the highest engineering standards. The government will not provide parts or test stands; contractors must establish their own supply chain, sourcing from government-approved suppliers.
