Statement of Work (SOW)

To replace any failed or failing scroll compressors on a 65-ton York YLAA chiller located at the U.S. Coast Guard Air Station Sacramento, CA. The work includes troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing defects to ensure proper operation and prevent repeated failures.

• Mobilize personnel, materials, and equipment.

• Isolate the chiller system and implement lockout/tagout procedures.

• Inspect and perform diagnostic tests on both chiller systems.

• Conduct oil sampling and acid tests to determine oil condition.

• Test compressors with a megohmmeter and assess other components for defects.

• Recover approximately 76 lbs of refrigerant safely and in accordance with EPA regulations.

• Disconnect electrical power to failed compressors.

• Test chiller control loop electrical components.

• Replace failed compressors with new ones.

• Inspect and repair braze plate heat exchangers.

• Replace filter driers or install specialized acid filters if contamination is detected.

• Replace compressor oil.

• Replace necessary components like gaskets, seals, and Schrader valve cores.

• Conduct nitrogen pressure tests and vacuum tests (<= 500 Micron).

• Recharge systems with refrigerant according to manufacturer specifications.
