Scope of Work
The project involves comprehensive repair and maintenance of airfield asphalt pavements. Key tasks include:
- Crack Sealing: Performing 3,000 linear feet (LF) of localized crack sealing on asphalt pavements, with cracks ranging from 1/4" to 2" in width and depth. Cracks greater than 1/2 inch require routing and widening by 0.125 inch.
- Surface Treatment: Spray-applying an emulsified asphalt surface treatment (GSB-88 or similar) to 88,000 square yards (SY) of airfield asphalt pavements on the lower ramp. Application rates are specified as 0.010-0.15 gallons per square yard, with 0.020-0.050 lbs per square yard of aggregate, and a 1:1 dilution for GSB-88.
- General: Contractor must provide all labor, materials, tools, equipment, supervision, quality control, and project management. No removal of existing pavement markings or restriping is required.

- Personnel: All work must be performed by technicians with a minimum of 5 years’ experience on airfield asphalt pavements, certified per UFGS 32-12-15.13. OSHA 30-Hour training is required for representatives, and OSHA 10-Hour for on-site workers.
- Compliance: Adherence to applicable state and federal laws, DoD policies, UFC, and New York State Code is mandatory, with the most stringent regulation applying. Sealant must conform to ASTM D6690.
- Site Access: Full ramp access will be provided with base escorts; personnel require a briefing but no badges for ramp access.
- Work Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7:00 a.m. - 4:15 p.m. No work on recognized US holidays.
