Questions & Answers / Clarifications

• Piping/Valve Depth: Estimated depth is 3-5 feet. Greater depths will be reviewed as differing site conditions.

• Existing Valves: Expect in-line valves, but some are hung on hydrants.

• Isolation Responsibility: The government (20 CES) will be responsible for isolating lines for hydrants without existing isolation valves, requiring a minimum of 3 weeks advance notice.

• Special Scheduling: Weekend or federal holiday work will be discussed on an "as needed basis" and approved by CE and CONS.

• Demo Material: All demo material, hydrants, and piping become the property of the contractor; the government does not want any materials returned.

• Hydrant/Valve Brand: Mueller brand hydrants and valves are acceptable; the government prefers a left turn open on whichever brand is installed.

• Laydown Yard: A laydown yard will be provided.

• Ductile Pipe Conversion: Conversion of ductile pipe to C900 is acceptable.

• Questions and Answers: Adds Attachment 10, which contains answers to questions received from interested vendors.
