Replace existing Active Vehicle Barriers (AVBs) system at Gate 2. New AVBs shall be relocate further away from the Traffic Check House, B345, to give Security Forces personnel a minimum of 9 seconds response time. Install vehicle sensors to support AVBs operation such as safety loops. Rewire associated electrical power and control circuit to B345. Repave the road with reinforced barrier curbs to prevent vehicles from circumventing the AVBs. Provide AVBs with storm water drains. Relocate traffic warning signs to the new AVBs location. Renovate Gate 2 Traffic Check House, B345, to accommodate the new AVBs. Expand electrical panel and replace control switches to operate the new AVBs. Replace door lock assembly at the entrance to the electrical panel room. Renovate Gate 2 Overwatch, B348, to convert the Hydraulic Power Unit (HPU) room into a storage room with mechanical air ventilation system. Replace door locks for the HPU room and guard booth. Sustainable principles, to include life cycle cost-effective practices, will be integrated into the design, development, and construction of the project in accordance with UFC 1-200-02.
