Scope of Work
This requirement involves replacing chain nets on two (2) foam-filled marine fenders, each approximately 4.5 meters in diameter and 9.0 meters in length, weighing 11 tons. The contractor will:
- Assemble and fit new chain nets to the fenders, ensuring minimal slack.
- Provide all necessary labor, tools, materials, and equipment.
- Dispose of all existing chains and tires (two sets).
- Utilize specific materials for new chain nets, including galvanized chain, shackles, and clevis plates. Used truck tires are acceptable for the fender assembly.
Performance & Deliverables
- The contractor must submit pre-fabrication approval documents (drawings, materials list, work schedule) within twenty-five (25) working days after contract award.
- Government technical review will be completed within ten (10) working days.
- An inspection and operational test, including a visual inspection for chain slack, will be performed.
- The entire project must be accomplished within four (4) months from the contract award date.
- The work will be performed at the contractor's yard. Port Operations will deliver and pick up the fenders via water, but the contractor is responsible for lifting them between the sea surface and their yard.
