Scope of Work

The contractor will be responsible for:

  • Picking up Government Furnished Material (GFM), including a new CTD cable and eco-friendly grease, from NOAA's warehouse in Pascagoula, MS.
  • Transporting the GFM to the NOAA Ship PISCES at Naval Station Newport, Rhode Island.
  • Procuring a constant tension wire spooler certified for 4,500 meters of 0.378 diameter wire rope and an empty metal cable drum, or utilizing government-provided equipment.
  • Removing and disposing of the old CTD cable from the #2 Hydrographic Winch.
  • Assisting the ship's Chief ET with slip ring replacement and securing the new cable end.
  • Spooling the new GFM CTD cable onto the #2 Hydrographic Winch, ensuring proper application of grease and correct cable wrap.
  • Testing the newly installed cable and verifying CTD Winch operation.
  • Coordinating all activities with the COR, Ship's Bosun, and Chief ET.
  • Returning government-provided equipment (if used) to the government facility.
