Quick Summary

The United States Air Force Life Cycle Management Center (AFLCMC), Special Warfare (SW) Program Office (AFLCMC/WISN) is conducting market research through a Sources Sought Synopsis (SSS)/Request for Information (RFI) to identify potential sources for a Denied Navigation System for Special Warfare operations. This system must provide reliable navigation in Global Positioning System (GPS)/Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) degraded or denied environments. Responses are due by February 27, 2026.

Scope of Work

The required capability is a compact electronic navigation system that integrates supplemental sensors such as magnetic, inertial, gravity, visual, celestial, radar/lidar, ground signals of opportunity, terrain, local timing, quantum/atomic clocks, and improved reference maps. Key requirements include:

  • Accuracy: Maintain positional accuracy within 10 meters CEP in GPS-denied environments.
  • Resistance: Meet specific anti-jamming and anti-spoofing performance parameters.
  • Time to First Fix: Achieve a first fix within 5 minutes (threshold) or 2 minutes (objective) in GPS/GNSS-denied environments.
  • Endurance: Operate continuously for 24 hours (threshold) or 48 hours (objective) on a single battery charge, with easily swappable batteries and ability to power via 12V DC or USB-C/A.
  • Compatibility: Seamlessly integrate with the Android Team Awareness Kit (ATAK) for real-time situational awareness and mission planning.
  • Durability: Water resistant up to IPX-5 (threshold) or IPX-7 (objective).
  • M-Code: Adhere to Department of Defense M-Code mandates.
  • Weight: Threshold of <=5 lbs, objective of <=3 lbs (including batteries and mounting hardware).
  • Versatility: Man-packable and adaptable for aircraft, land vehicles, and maritime platforms.

Contract & Timeline

  • Type: Sources Sought / Request for Information (RFI)
  • Set-Aside: None specified (broad industry participation encouraged)
  • Response Due: February 27, 2026, by 12:00 PM Eastern time
  • Published: January 28, 2026

Submission & Evaluation

Interested parties should submit responses demonstrating their technology and qualifications. Responses should include company data, small business status, product capabilities and specifications, Rough Order of Magnitude (ROM) cost estimates, current performance information, commercial item status, warranty terms, spare parts, training details, potential improvements, and risks. Responses should not exceed 15 pages. This RFI is for informational purposes and market research only; it does not constitute a solicitation. Information provided will be used to develop the acquisition strategy, statement of work, and/or performance specifications.

Additional Notes

U.S. and non-U.S. firms are permitted to respond. Prospective contractors must be registered in the System for Award Management (SAM) database. Proprietary or competition-sensitive information should be adequately marked.
