Quick Summary
The Department of the Air Force, specifically the AFLCMC/WAQ F-15 Program Office, is conducting a Request for Information (RFI) / Sources Sought for F-15 Depot Activation Capabilities to support the F-15EX program. This market research aims to identify potential sources for establishing organic depot maintenance capabilities, maximizing existing F-15 legacy assets, and improving supply chain efficiencies. This RFI is for information and planning purposes only and does not constitute a solicitation. Responses are due February 24, 2026.
Purpose & Scope
The RFI seeks industry input for Depot Activation capabilities for the F-15EX program. Depot Activation is defined as material maintenance or repair requiring overhaul, upgrading, or rebuilding of parts, assemblies, or subassemblies, and testing and reclamation of equipment. The objective is to establish F-15EX organic maintenance capabilities, particularly for a critical cockpit display system. This effort will involve contractor identification of requirements and the design, build, or purchase of Specialized Test Equipment (STE), Test Program Sets (TPS), and Interface Test Adapters (ITAs) for depot-level hardware testing and repair. The Air Force will provide common support equipment.
Key Areas of Interest
The Air Force is seeking information on:
- Efficient solutions/capabilities for organically repairing components related to Depot Activation.
- Solutions for addressing Technical Data (TD)/data rights/Intellectual Property (IP) rights.
- Cost, schedule, and performance information for Depot Activation components.
- Most efficient contracting solutions and existing DoD contracts.
- Rapidly fieldable, producible, and scalable Depot Activation solutions.
- Training for USAF Maintenance Technicians on STE operation, maintenance, and calibration.
