Purpose & Scope
The objective is to procure engine intake plugs and exhaust covers for eighty (80) T-38 Talon aircraft. The scope includes the manufacture and delivery of a total of 240 covers (160 intake plugs and 80 exhaust covers). The new covers will also feature the official 435th Flying Training Squadron insignia.
Key Requirements
- Design: Specifically fitted for T-38 engine intake and exhaust configurations.
- Material: Durable, weather-resistant, UV-resistant, and moisture-resistant vinyl with sculpted urethane foam filling, in black color.
- Features: Integrated "Remove Before Flight" streamers; exhaust covers must have securing straps for high winds; withstand temperatures up to 300°F; lightweight and easily removable; prevent intrusion of dust, sand, moisture, and foreign objects.
- Markings: Display official 435th Flying Squadron insignia (Government Furnished Information); include a designated area for identification marking; utilize durable, fade-resistant printing/embroidery.
- Warranty: Two-year replacement warranty.
Delivery & Quality Assurance
Delivery is required at 11090 5th St East Hanger 3, JBSA Randolph TX 78150, within 90 days of contract award (or as negotiated). Items must be packaged to prevent shipping damage, and delivery coordinated with the Government POC. Items must meet applicable aerospace ground support durability standards and will be inspected for proper fit, material integrity, and insignia accuracy. Defective items will be replaced at no additional cost.
