Quick Summary
The Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), Office of Investigative Technology (ST), has issued a Request for Information (RFI) to identify potential sources for MSAT Push-to-Talk (PTT) and Starlink satellite data services and devices. This market research aims to gather information on industry capabilities to support existing MSAT G2 radios and expand Starlink terminal services. Responses are due by March 31, 2026.
Scope of Work
The DEA requires continuation of services for 163 MSAT G2 Satellite PTT Radios with Satellite Mutual Aid Radio Talk-Group Service (SMART), providing critical contingency and operational communications. Additionally, the agency seeks to continue service for 14 Starlink High-Performance Terminals and procure four (4) new Starlink Mini Satellite Terminal packages, which will also require SMART group service. Each Starlink mini package must include: 1x Gen 4 Starlink mini terminal, 1x pipe adapter, 1x power supply, 1x external Wi-Fi router, 1x mesh extender, and 1x custom rugged travel case. The attached schedule details specific items including Starlink Fixed Priority Service, Starlink Global (Mobile Roaming) Priority Service, MSAT 5 Beam All Regions coverage, e911 fees, and potential overage usage fees.
