Quick Summary

The U.S. Army Contracting Command-New Jersey (ACC-NJ), on behalf of the U.S. Army Combat Capabilities Development Command (DEVCOM) Armaments Center (AC), is issuing a Sources Sought Notice (SSN) for Human Machine Integrated Formations (HMIF) Integration Enabling Technologies. This Request for Information (RFI) aims to identify potential sources for both software and hardware technologies that can enable modular and multi-mission configurable supervised autonomous armament packages for integration onto manned or unmanned platforms. Responses are due by March 9, 2026.

Scope of Work

The Army is seeking candidate technologies that include, but are not limited to:

  • Concepts to inform Assured Armaments Reference Architecture (AARA) and Modular Open Systems Approach (MOSA) for supervised autonomous armaments, focusing on common internal/external interfaces and hardware/software/electrical interface systems for mounting and integration.
  • Safety assured control hardware and software for wired or wireless supervised autonomous armaments systems, requiring MIL-STD-882 E compliance.
  • Artificial Intelligence (AI) autonomy enabling technologies and safeguards, including those from other sectors applicable to armament packages and/or vehicle platforms. This includes reducing manual user input, improving visualizations, auto-generating/dynamic keep-out zones, target tracking/prioritization, and implementing tactical tasks/behaviors.
  • Integration of Aided Target Recognition (AiTR) into weapons station controls architecture, for identification and cueing of known/suspected threats, and real-time object detection and classification from all available data sources.
