Scope of Work
The contractor will provide research and development services for protective clothing and equipment to the Navy Clothing and Textile Research Facility (NCTRF). The primary purpose is to advance scientific and technical information through the application of knowledge and resources to meet NCTRF's mission requirements. This includes R&D support for chemical/biological (CB) and multifunctional protection technologies, from technology inception to transition. Support encompasses research, development, maturation, demonstration, and transition of new technologies, as well as providing Science and Technology (S&T) solutions for sustaining fielded technologies. Activities include analysis of CB, ballistic, and flame-resistant protection technologies; market surveys; identification of emerging requirements; materials and design concept development; fabrication of design concept prototypes; laboratory tests; field demonstrations; and comprehensive analysis, reporting, and documentation.
