Quick Summary
The U.S. Census Bureau (USCB) is issuing a Request for Information (RFI) for Address Listing Field Augmentation. This RFI seeks information on available data solutions to identify and augment address data for Living Quarters (LQs) in hard-to-reach areas not covered by standard addressing systems. The goal is to strengthen the Master Address File (MAF)/Topologically Integrated Geographic Encoding and Referencing (TIGER) System. Responses are due by 12:00 PM EST on Thursday, February 5, 2026.
Scope of Work
The USCB is seeking data solutions to:
- Provide address and location data for Living Quarters (LQs), particularly in remote regions (e.g., Alaska, Maine, American Southwest, Puerto Rico).
- Supply address points with x,y coordinates (minimum 5 decimal places) consistent with the FGDC Address Standard for common addressing situations.
- For less common situations, provide x,y coordinates and location descriptions.
- Include file-level metadata (data collection date, source, authority/owner, license, coordinate reference system, coordinate position).
- Provide a data quality report covering completeness, logical consistency, positional accuracy, temporal quality, and thematic accuracy.
- Deliver data in a machine-readable format on a regular (monthly) basis.
- Ensure data is only for existing LQs.
