This document provides responses to vendor questions regarding the FTTD (Fiber to the Desk) and VTC (Video Teleconference) systems for the opportunity.

• Fiber Count: Each desk will have 4 strands of fiber. Additional strands will remain dark for future expansion.
• Fiber Termination: All fibers will terminate at the desk and the IDF. The IDF will be located on each floor.
• FTTD Location: FTTD is needed on the 2nd floor only.
• Cabling Method: Cables can be run on the wall using Panduit or J-hooks, or along the wall as needed. Visibility and testability are required.
• Network Electronics: The Government will provide network electronics and SFP transceivers. TAA-compliant Cisco-compatible transceivers will be acceptable.
• Fiber Backbone: The contractor shall run fiber from the 1st floor MDF to the 2nd floor IDF. The base infrastructure will handle the run from the backbone to the MDF.
• VTC Speakers: The contractor should recommend and procure a speaker solution, preferably ceiling speakers. Specs will be provided at the formal RFP.
• VTC Microphones: Table mics with 3.5mm interface will be used, not soundbars with microphones.
• VTC Connectivity: 66ABG/SCOI will be responsible for ensuring network connectivity to the VTC devices.
• VTC Cameras: Cameras have already been procured by the Government.

Request for Information (RFI)

This RFI seeks information from interested contractors regarding the provision and installation of a complete and operational Fiber to the Desk (FTTD) system. The system is intended for user workstations and conference rooms in building 1109 at Hanscom Air Force Base (HAFB), Massachusetts. The objective is to solicit Letters of Interest (LOI) from potential contractors capable of completing the specified requirements.

• Install a fully functional and compliant FTTD system connecting all designated information systems.

• Ensure 100% of installed fiber optic strands are tested and certified to meet or exceed TIA/EIA performance specifications.

• Coordinate all work, especially network downtime, with the government's technical point of contact to minimize disruption to daily operations.

• Deliver complete as-built documentation, including floor plans, rack elevations, and certified test results for all fiber strands, within 14 days after installation completion.

• Interested parties should submit a Letter of Interest (LOI) detailing how their organization would meet the requirements.

• The LOI should include a point of contact for the organization and a person authorized to enter into agreements.

• Questions are due by 1:00 PM ET on March 6, 2026. Answers will be posted to SAM.gov no later than March 11, 2026.

• A site visit is scheduled for Monday, March 2, 2026, beginning at 1:00 PM ET at Hanscom AFB.

• Attendees must be at the Hanscom AFB Visitor Control Center by 12:15 PM ET to allow time for visitor passes.

• All individuals must possess a REAL ID compliant driver's license or a second form of identification along with non-REAL ID compliant identification. Vehicle registration and proof of insurance are also required.

• Note: Marijuana possession is a federal offense and is not allowed on federal installations.

• This is a Request for Information (RFI), not a Request for Proposal (RFP), quotation, or abstract.

• The Government does not intend to award a contract based on responses to this RFI.
