Quick Summary
The Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA), through the Virginia Contracting Activity (VACA), has issued a Sources Sought / Request for Information (RFI) for a Mimaki UV Flatbed Printer system. This RFI seeks qualified sources and industry input to determine a precise NAICS code and inform the acquisition strategy. Capabilities statements are due by April 23, 2026, at 1:00 PM EST.
Purpose & Scope
This RFI is for market research to assess industry capabilities for providing a Mimaki JFX200-2513EX UV Flatbed Printer, associated maintenance, and training. The printer is required to enhance DIA's Printing Services. The government aims to refine the preliminary NAICS Code 811310 and determine if a set-aside is appropriate for a future solicitation. This is not a request for offers.
Key Requirements
The requirement is for one (1) Mimaki JFX200-2513EX UV Flatbed Printer system, including an 8-channel ink supply, Piezo print heads, RasterLink 7 RIP software, ionizer, LED-UV curing, vacuum unit, and two-layer print function. It must print on media up to 2" thick (98.4x51.2" area) with zero drying time. Vendor must provide training to DIA personnel, install the system within 10 days of notification, and offer a minimum 1-Year extended warranty.
Submission Requirements
Interested businesses must submit a capabilities statement detailing their ability to meet the requirements. This should include:
- Company Profile: Business size, SAM UEI, CAGE, recommended NAICS/contract type, socio-economic status, certifications, GSA/NASA SWEP, and how maintenance/training will be provided.
- Relevant Experience: Similar efforts (flatbed printer, maintenance, training) within three years, with project descriptions, contract numbers, values, and agency points of contact.
- Documentation: A drawing to scale with dimensions, electrical/pneumatic connection requirements, and required free space.
Anticipated Contract Details & Eligibility
The anticipated contract includes a one (1) 12-month Base Period and one (1) 12-month Option Period. Items are needed by September 30, 2026. Delivery is to Landover, MD. This RFI is open to all potential sources, including Small Businesses, to help determine if a set-aside is appropriate.
Important Notes
Responses are voluntary and will not be returned. No payment for information. No phone inquiries. Installation activities occur during normal business hours (0700-1400, M-F). Non-propane equipment only. Vendor vehicles must vacate the DIA loading dock by 1400 daily. Vendor shall train DIA staff within 30 days of installation. All communication with Print Plant supervisors must include the COR and ACOR.
