Quick Summary
The Department of the Army, Rock Island Arsenal-Joint Manufacturing and Technology Center (RIA-JMTC) is issuing a Request for Information (RFI) for market research to identify qualified vendors capable of providing NEDOX (NH-1) coating application and thickness testing services. This RFI seeks to gather information on industry capabilities for applying this proprietary coating or a technically equivalent solution to government-furnished metal parts. Responses are due by February 9, 2026, at 10:00 AM CST.
Scope of Work
The contractor will be required to apply NEDOX (NH-1) coating to specific clamping rings (Parts #8166614-02 and #8166615-02, quantity 20-25 each) and test coupons (quantity 2-5). This includes providing all necessary labor, materials, and facilities. The coating application must adhere to specifications in provided drawings (part# 8166614 Rev. A and 8166615 Rev. B). Quality control testing is essential to validate coating thickness, and a robust Quality Control (QC) system must be maintained.
Requirements & Deliverables
- Coating Application: Apply NEDOX (NH-1) or a technically equivalent coating per manufacturer's instructions and drawing specifications.
- Quality Assurance: Conduct coating thickness quality validation tests and provide electronic Certificates of Conformance (CoCs) with each shipment.
- Logistics: Receive product parts and test coupons from RIA-JMTC, and be responsible for return shipping costs and necessary packaging.
- Performance Standards: Maintain 95% on-time delivery, a defect rate not exceeding 0.5%, and respond to inquiries within 24 hours. Finished products must meet dimensional tolerances for coating thickness.
- Contractor Qualifications: Must possess ISO 9001 certification and a minimum of 5 years of demonstrated experience with the specified coating, its application, and post-application thickness validation testing.
