Scope of Work
The contractor shall provide commercial kennel facilities and comprehensive services for two CBP canines, Shylo (medium Beagle) and Ringo (large German Shepherd). Services include:
- Facility Provision: Commercial kennel meeting construction, sanitation, health, and safety standards. Must accommodate potential future needs.
- Canine Care: Daily exercise, grooming, health checks, and veterinary care during non-working periods. Provision of food, supplies, and equipment. Handlers are responsible for daily health checks, grooming, and reporting issues.
- Access & Security: Ensure 24/7 independent access for assigned CBPO/K9 Officers via key/key card (unless facility is 24/7). Restricted access for general public. Facilities are subject to unannounced quarterly inspections.
- Maintenance: Daily cleaning and maintenance of kennels to ensure a safe and sanitary condition.
- Documentation: Maintain daily logs for kennel cleaning, feeding, exercise, health checks, and biological relief.
- Emergency Preparedness: Develop and implement plans for emergency procedures, escaped dogs, and flea/tick protection.
Contract Details
- Contract Type: Firm Fixed Price
- Period of Performance: One (1) year base period with four (4) one-year option periods.
- Funding: The contract will be fully funded for every contract year.
- Currency: All prices must be in Canadian Dollars (CAD). Value Added Tax (VAT) will be priced as a separate line item.
- Anticipated Timeline: Award by mid-June 2026, with service period commencing July 01, 2026.
