Purpose & Scope of Work
This acquisition supports the ongoing BSE Surveillance program, which monitors and assesses changes to the BSE status of U.S. cattle and aims for early detection, meeting or exceeding OIE "Type B" surveillance standards. Contractors will be responsible for collecting brain stem samples from cattle 12 months of age or older, specifically from clinical suspect, disabled, and fallen stock populations.

- Identifying, collecting, documenting, packaging, and shipping brain stem samples to designated laboratories.
- Electronically entering submission and surveillance data into the Veterinary Services Laboratory Submissions (VSLS) system.
