Scope of Work
The requirement involves providing all plant, labor, material, design, and supervision for:
- Hot-Mix Asphalt (HMA): Approximately 8,001 tons of HMA Intermediate Course, Type B with PG 67-22 binder. Delivery is on an as-needed basis from June 8, 2026, to September 15, 2026, with an anticipated average daily sub-lot of 500 tons. HMA must be a minimum of 290 degrees Fahrenheit at delivery, and night/weekend delivery capability is required. The agency cannot re-heat HMA or use insulated hauling assets.
- Bituminous Tack Coat: Approximately 1,960 gallons for an anticipated area of 12,400 square yards, with an application rate of 0.05 to 0.15 gallon per square yard. Delivery from May 2026 to October 2026.
- Bituminous Prime Coat: Approximately 6,200 gallons for an anticipated area of 23,300 square yards, with an application rate of 0.10 to 0.40 gallon per square yard. Delivery from May 2026 to October 2026.
- Quality Control: Contractor shall provide field and laboratory quality control testing, including preliminary HMA mix aggregate and JMF testing, plus sampling and testing of cores from each 1,000-ton lot for JMF deviations.
Performance will take place at the Hotel Taxiway, Avon Park Air Force Range, Avon Park, FL. HMA mixtures and bituminous coats must conform to UFGS standards, and design must comply with Unified Facilities Criteria (UFC) and Avon Park Air Force Range Design Standards.
