Fit reasons
- NAICS alignment with historical contract wins in similar service areas.
- Scope strongly matches core technical capabilities and delivery model.
Risks
- Past performance thresholds may require one additional teaming partner.
- Potential clarification needed on staffing minimums before bid/no-bid.
Next steps
Validate eligibility requirements, assign capture owner, and schedule partner outreach to confirm teaming strategy before submission planning.
Quick Summary
The Army Contracting Command – Aberdeen Proving Ground (ACC-APG), Tobyhanna Division, intends to award a sole source contract to Molrix LLC for the lease of Robotic Wire Harness Manufacturing Machines. This requirement includes one Prototype/Low-Rate Initial Production (LRIP) machine and one Full Rate Production machine, along with necessary documentation, operating software, and engineering services. Interested parties capable of meeting this requirement must submit a statement of capabilities by March 20, 2026.
Scope of Work
The requirement is for the lease of two types of robotic wire harness manufacturing machines:
- Prototype/Low-Rate Initial Production (LRIP) Machine: Features robotic capabilities for power and data wire disposition, various terminations (IDC, Crimp, Poke home, Splice), and protection (Adhesives, Potting, Tape, Films, Clips). Specific mechanical, environmental, electrical (240V, 32A, single phase), and pneumatic parameters are detailed.
- Full Rate Production Machine: Possesses similar robotic capabilities for wire disposition, terminations, and protection. It has larger mechanical dimensions and requires 400V, 32A, 3-phase electrical power, with other environmental and pneumatic parameters similar to the LRIP machine.
Both machines require:
- Documentation: Operator's Manual, Maintenance Manual, Installation Documentation, Training Material.
- Software: Compatible Computer Aided Design (CAD) and Computer Aided Manufacturing (CAM) software to support equipment post-processor.
- Engineering Services: Operator and engineering training, advanced production training, application engineers, field support, and support for equipment modification (End Effector Development).
Contract & Timeline
- Type: Notice of Intent to Award a Sole Source Contract (FAR Part 12, Commercial Items and Simplified Acquisition Procedures).
- Intended Awardee: Molrix LLC.
- Set-Aside: None (Sole Source).
- Capability Statement Due: March 20, 2026, by 12:00 p.m. EST.
