Quick Summary
The National Park Service (NPS), Department of the Interior, is soliciting proposals for Dumpster Services for the Cape Hatteras National Seashore and other Outer Banks Group sites in North Carolina. This is a Firm-Fixed Price contract for one base year and four option years. Responses are due April 30, 2026.
Scope of Work
The contractor will provide and service a base of 42 solid waste dumpsters, with additional units deployed during peak holiday weekends and for specific campgrounds. Services encompass Fort Raleigh National Historic Site, Cape Hatteras National Seashore, and Wright Brothers National Memorial. Key responsibilities include providing all labor, tools, equipment, materials, pad-locked dumpsters (Baker Green or approved alternative), and managing all required licenses, permits, and dump fees. Dumpsters in day-use areas require pad-locked lids and 18" slide door access.
Key Requirements
Services are required at least once a week, increasing to twice a week during peak season (Memorial Day to Labor Day weekend), generally on Mondays and Fridays. Specific access limitations apply to certain maintenance yards (e.g., Bodie Island, Buxton, Wright Brothers). The contractor must respond to repair/replacement needs within 72 calendar hours and provide monthly landfill load ticket weights. All ferry fees and logistics for Ocracoke Island are the contractor's responsibility. Compliance with OSHA, EPA, and state/local safety laws, along with maintaining appropriate insurance and oil spill kits, is mandatory.
