Scope of Sale
This sale is for scrap lead acid vehicle batteries, each weighing approximately 74 lbs. Pallets contain about 32 batteries, totaling approximately 2,414 lbs per pallet. The initial removal of approximately 42,000 lbs is required within 30 days of the contract effective date. Subsequent removals are scheduled for 6 months after the initial removal and then 6 months thereafter, regardless of available weight. The contractor must agree to remove less than full truckloads if necessary to comply with California Code of Regulations for Hazardous Waste.
Logistics & Compliance
The contractor is responsible for all freight costs and shipping losses. A flat-bed type trailer/truck/van is required for transportation, and the Sierra Army Depot can assist with loading using government-owned equipment. The contractor must secure the load and comply with California Code of Regulations, specifically Title 13 section 1161 for manifest/bill of lading requirements and 22 CCR § 66266.81 for handling and shipping hazardous waste. Payment must be made prior to removal via Certified Check/Money Order or Company Check payable to US TREASURY.
Terms & Conditions
This is an "All or Nothing" sale. Awarded batteries are contractually binding, and failure to pay for and remove them within the specified timeframe will result in a default fee and a ban from future government sales. The government reserves the right to reject unacceptable proposals. Removal hours are Monday-Thursday, 07:30 to 14:00, at the Sierra Army Depot Hazardous Waste Facility. Removals must be scheduled 72 hours in advance with Starla Roberts. A visitor's pass, proof of insurance, vehicle registration, and a valid driver's license are required for depot access, and a background check will be performed.
