Scope of Work
This Sources Sought seeks industry input for the acquisition and turn-key installation of a new Molten Salt Bath Heat-Treating Furnace and an Industrial Preservation Freezer. The turn-key services encompass technical data, delivery, unloading and rigging, IUID tagging, removal of the existing freezer, installation, and training. Both the furnace and freezer must be equipped with specific Honeywell brand components: HC900 Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) and MiniTrend digital chart recorder, with no substitutions permitted.
Key Requirements
- Molten Salt Bath Furnace: Internal bath size 48" L x 48" W x 48" D, constructed from ¼” thick, type 309 stainless steel with 1800°F-rated insulation. Electric heating capable of 850°F - 950°F ± 5°F, with a maximum temperature of 1100°F and Class 1 ± 5.0°F accuracy per AMS 2750. Requires a 50% sodium nitrate, 50% potassium nitrate salt solution.
- Industrial Preservation Freezer: Internal volume 130" L x 70" W x 40" D, capable of -45°F ± 5°F, utilizing zero ozone depletion refrigerants.
- General: Equipment must be new, commercially available, with accessible parts, U.S. customary units, and controls conveniently located. Compliance with OSHA 29 CFR 1910, OPNAVINST 5100.23H, and applicable ISO/EN/DIN/JIS standards is mandatory. Electrical systems must conform to NFPA 79, with 480 Volt, 3-phase, 60 Hertz, 250KVA source power. Item Unique Identification Marking (IUID) is required.
