Quick Summary
The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS), under the Department of the Interior, has issued a Solicitation for the structural repair of storm-damaged catwalk pilings at the Bears Bluff National Fish Hatchery in Wadmalaw Island, South Carolina. This is a Small Business Set-Aside opportunity for a Firm Fixed-Price contract. Proposals are due June 15, 2026, at 12:00 pm EST.
Scope of Work
The project involves the installation of ten new 12-inch diameter, 30-foot long 2.5 CCA marine-grade treated pilings. These pilings will be "sistered" alongside existing damaged pilings on two catwalks. Contractors are responsible for determining the correct piling length to ensure a minimum of 10-ft ground penetration. The work also includes connecting new pilings to existing structures using SAE 316 stainless steel grade hardware and marine-grade treated header boards (3" x 8" x 16'). The contractor must provide all labor, materials, equipment, and supervision, and is responsible for the removal and replacement of any dock parts necessary for piling installation. All resulting trash must be hauled off and disposed of. Compliance with applicable local, state, and federal codes, including Davis-Bacon wage rates, is mandatory.
